Linamar Transportation was formed in 1986 for the purpose of moving local freight between the Linamar Corporation facilities to and from suppliers within the Golden triangle. In the beginning Linamar had two straight trucks which gradually grew to three straight trucks and two tractor trailers. Dealing with the automotive sector, Linamar Transportation’s name became synonymous with on-time service. Eventually services were expanded to include freight movements to and from Canada and the United States. By 1992 their fleet consisted of five local power units and seven tractor trailers dedicated to US lanes. Today Linamar Transportation operates as a for-hire carrier and has over 100 power units, 6 straight trucks, 1 flatbed and 193 dry van trailers, 28 of which are dedicated to the Toronto / Windsor corridor. The balance runs between the USA & Canada.. Currently Linamar Transportation Inc employs over 100 people at the Guelph, ON facility. The fleet consists of 100% company-drivers and this guarantees that all driving personal have been properly screened and qualified in all the necessary qualifications both internally and federally.
